Intermountain HO SP Cab Forward
This is a very impressive model of one of Southern Pacific 4-8-8-2 cab-forward steam locomotives. It is produced by Intermountain in HO scale. They have several versions to chose from with different locomotive numbering and tender lettering. I chose one with the grey & black front panel and "Southern Pacific" on the tender sides. Other choices include black fronts and "Southern Pacific Lines" or no lettering on the tender sides.
I was a little concerned because I had read of motor problems and slow speeds with previous versions of this model. Intermountain did offer up-grades, however; and those problems have been fixed in these later versions. I've found my model to be smooth running, appropriated geared, and a really strong puller. It is the most powerful locomotive I own. I have 20 weighted PFE reefers and this loco call pull the entire string up my 2.2% grade. My next powerful locomotive can handle 1/2 that number.
The detail is so good, it is mind boggling. Much of the detail (piping, handrails, etc.) is quite small and appears delicate, so you need to be careful when you handle the model. Intermountain supplies information on how to properly handle the locomotive in their instructions. I'm very careful handling it; and, so far, I have not had any problems with anything breaking. The headlights and number boards are lighted and the headlight in the tender goes on while in reverse and the front headlight turns off. I did not get the sound equipped version, so I cannot comment on that aspect.
I really like this model of one of my favorite locomotives. It is a real bargain at less than $400 and I highly recommend it.

Replacement Latch for GE/Whirlpool Dishwasher
The latch handle for my older GE dishwasher broke and had to be replaced. It was no longer possible to unlatch and open the door, but I was able to get the door unlatched and open by careful use of a small screw driver.
The door has to be open in order to be able to replace the latch. This dishwasher was made by Whirpool. It was neccessary to replace replace the entire latching mechanism. It is necessary to remove the front of the door to replace the mechanism. My latch and washer is white, but white was not available so I had to get black. Such a small portion of the latch handle is visable, however, it is hardly visable. This is a simple repair for any competent DIYer.

Train Car Weights, Self Stick
These are 1/4 oz. self sticking model freight car weights. They need to go in the inside of your car. I really like them as they are easy to install and you can add the weight directly over the trucks. Some folks do not believe in weighing their cars, but I've had many derailing problems with cars which are too light, especially around curves or when in trains with a pusher. Better to have shorter, heavier trains which stay on the tracks than longer ones that do not! I really like this these weights and it was very quickly shipped.
