About
An early adopter of ebay, I joined in the summer of 1995 or thereabouts. Sometime in '99, IIRC, seven items in a row that I'd bought never arrived. Ebay had no buyer protection; I left - who needs it? Now I'm back as policies have changed - a lot.

Not a unit for professionals; shuts off to protect equipment when it could switch to batteries.
1 of 1 found this helpful As a professional, I've run data centers for OTHER people (corps) since 1986, and, in addition to continuing to do so for others, for my own organization since 1995, and this type of product is an imperative. Power spikes and power failures, brown-outs and so forth HAPPEN, and not having one of these WILL eventually lead to damaged equipment and lost data (though both not necessarily at the same time).
We got this unit about a year and a couple of months ago, when our old APC unit finally died after over 20 years of service. During a year and a couple of months of service we had had a number of power outages and this unit transitioned to the batteries just fine, so we thought all was OK. However last night we had an outage where there was a significant power spike - we know because we saw the lights brighten momentarily before going out - and THIS unit decided to shut off and NOT transition to the batteries!
Important data:
1) When the power went off, the unit shutdown, thus shutting down our whole computer rack.
2) Power back, the unit did NOT turn back on.
3) Investigation proved the batteries were fully charged.
4) In discussing things with their tech support, they acknowledged that this unit shuts off "if it thinks the power wave (a reference to the waveform of the AC) would be harmful to equipment." They also said, "it has a narrow band of acceptance of the frequency range" (here a reference to the AC frequency, theoretically 60 hz in the USA and 50 in most of Europe, for example). And so, this unit just shut off RATHER than transitioning to the batteries as our former system did.
5) THEY recommend purchase of their "Isobar 4 ultra surge protector" for this problem for which they say somewhere (in the literature that came with the unit) is "a $100 value".
As a professional, I find not having that feature integrated simply outside industry norms. But, at least it shut off and protected our equipment. -slap-forehead-

Nice light, product came early
The lamp somehow appears smaller than one might imagine, but I measured and confirmed its size is as described. The LEDs are bright, etc, nothing wrong with the product (so far - it hasn't seen much service yet).
However, very notable was that the lamp assembly came three days early! What a nice surprise!

Unexpected fitment problem due to design issue
0 of 1 found this helpful I've run Kool Stop V-brake pads before and expected much the same superb experience. However, there was a BIG show stopping issue that came as I tried to mount them to my bike. The design uses a special nut that also serves as a spacer. I imagine the goal is to keep everything as light weight as possible, but what I experienced was that this nut is too large to fit in my bike's shoe holders!
I thought, OK, I'm trying to run these on a seriously old bike - from 1983, I think - but I have a brand new bike - from 2017! - and I can swap pads around and use them instead on this other bike. However, the same fitment problem was there!
Yes, I can likely open up the slots to be able to use these, but it's a major annoyance and it's a challenge I haven't solved yet. And, you can't just run washers and fit a different nut on there or anything like that because the stud coming out of the shoe holder is too short for that.
BTW, the nut's outside diameter is 6.4mm. None of the brake mounting arms I tried have slots that wide, nor are any of them perfectly consistent on slot width. Generally, they're as-forged and are approximately about 6.2 + - 0.1mm.
