A substantial, solid wood, large ray with wood covered copper handles. The aides are canted and high. The wood grain and finish make this a beautiful object for daily use. Please convey my thanks to those who made this. Thank you 10X.

Castor & Pollux
This is a Euro Modern stage setting of the Greco Roman myth of the brothers who loved each other so much platonically that one went to Hades to retrieve the other with the help of the deceased's betrothed and her rival. Jupiter immortalizes them by making them stars in the firmament. :Les Ta;ens Lyrique is conducted by Christopher Rousset in a production by the Netherlands Opera. The music by Jean Phillipe Rameau at his best, is performed period style and spaciously recorded. Sung in French with subtitles, there is an extra feature providing a glimpse behind the stage to reveal the production challenges. This is a 2 DVD set produced competently Kultur's Opera Arte, This set contains the composer's revised version of 1754. This work was popular before the revolution.
