Bridge To Terabithia, Wonder Works, 1985
3 of 3 found this helpful This 60 minute made-for-tv movie is a wonderful re-telling of this timeless story, more sweet and innocent than either the Katherine Paterson book or the 2007 Disney production. Here you will find excellent acting, beautiful music and fine photography, but without any expensive visual effects. I highly recommend this as a family movie, or to any fans of the book.

One of the best animated movies ever!
I loved this movie from the first time I saw it on TV in the fall of 1979. The animation is flowing, stunning, and brilliantly vivid, especially the siege of Minas Tirith. The voices and appearances of the characters fit perfectly with who they are, the script is beautifully phrased and deeply poetic, while the music and songs are absolutely wonderful! I enjoyed it every bit as much as Peter Jackson's live action version of this timeless tale.
I highly recommend this movie to any Lord of the Rings fans, to all lovers of high fantasy, and to everyone who would battle evil to the end!

Original 1937 version, still not fully restored.
5 of 5 found this helpful This is one of the most beautiful and inspiring movies I have ever seen. The story is wonderful and flows swiftly along, the characters are highly likable and realistic, the sets and scenery are fabulous, while the music is totally enchanting. Although the original sound and voice track is complete, there are still seven minutes of film lost where only photographs are shown, and I hope and pray that it will eventually be discovered. This DVD is of the highest quality, and the special features make it well worthwhile to purchase over the VHS tape. It is fascinating to learn about the movie's production and restoration, and view scenes that were never included in the theatrical release. I highly recommend this movie to all lovers of peace and prosperity, and to everyone who believes that life should be filled with beauty, wonder, and working for a better world.
