Sony Xplod 6x9" XS-F6925 Coaxial Car Speakers
Chapter 1 - 'Finding the right one's' There i was looking for some Sony Xplod 6x9's, was trawling through the pages and what did i see? I saw these beautys with only 20 odd minutes to go, only 1 bid, only on £9.99, i had to have them. I sat in front of my computer waiting anxiously till there was only seconds left of the auction, 10 minutes went by, no one bidding, another 5 mintues went by, still no more bids, then all of a sudden we're in the last seconds. I wait till there's 13 seconds left and pop a bid in of £10.50, confirm bid, then BAM! Someones out bid me! I get my backside into gear and quickly shoot in with a bid of £15, confirm it, and what do you know, ol' Russ had won them! Chapter 2 - 'The waiting game' Now these speakers ended 2 minutes before midnight on Friday, didn't expect to recieve them the next day, so i had to wait. The weekend went alright, got a new battery for my phone in the post Saturday morning, turn's out i didn't need it coz the old battery decided to work again. Did the usual really while waiting, wandered about, had a dump, spoke to hitler... i mean my missus lol, Sunday was alright coz i had a chinese yum yum! Then came Monday morning, Still no speakers! Didn't get anything delivered that morning (was expecting some other crap too), can't remember what i did that day, probably something waaaaay to exciting. Then came Tuesday morning...... Chapter 3 - 'Hello there!' THE SPEAKERS HAD ARRIVED! I was one happy chappy, woke up to this big box and two other packages, i thought it was christmas day! Anyway i was up and outta bed the fastest i've ever been and straight out to fit these badboys. Went out to the ol' escort and fitted some new Aero wipers i'd bought aswell, they look rather snazzy, fitted quick and easy too, then i took out the parcel shelf and went back in the house to find a plate of cheese on toast on the table for me yum yum! Had me cheese on toast then worked out how i'm gonna fit these badboys onto the parcel shelf, for those that don't know, the MK4 escort parcel shelf has strenghtening bars in it making6x9's difficult to fit, unless you're abit of a donut lol. After abit of working out i'd sussed how they'd fit, so i marked out the templates then out i went to the shed, got me drill out and jigsaw and i was ready to go. Fitting them was bit of a palarva, broke a jigsaw blade you see, fitted a new one though and after doing abit more working out i was done. Went indoors and the speakers when straight in and fitted a treat! Showed me mum and she said they looked good and gave it her seal of approval. Then got Hetty out (thats my hoover, it's pink ;-)) gave the shelf a quick hoover coz they got all dust over them from cutting with the jigsaw. Now it was time to put the badboys in the car.... Last Chapter - 'Sounding good' Popped the shelf back in, put the wires on (only bad bit about these is the speaker connections are abit flimsy), connected them up the the original speaker wires with some blue double female connectors ;-), now it was ready to try them out. Ignition on, put on some tunes and well... I WAS IMPRESSED! Well worth the money, I now can listen to my tunes loud without any crackle or distortion, when i get outta my escort now, my ears are ringing, the bass from them are brilliant, feels like someone's kicking the back of the driver's seat! The verdit? Well worth it, i'd recommend these to anyone, good build quality and good sound quality too. Russ
