1 of 1 found this helpful This book should be required reading for each and every American. This book should be taught in each and every high school history class in America. This book is America. The great, the good, the bad, and the ugly truths. This book not only encapsulates the African-American journey but the evolution of American society. I want to personally thank a talk show host Bomani Jones for mentioning this book on his program ESPN's "The Right Time". I didn't know that this book existed. It peaked my curiosity and it became the best book I have every read. Subsequently I have purchased several books for my family and friends and to a person they feel the same way that I do about this book. It will make you laugh. It will make you angry. It will make you cry. It will make you feel pround. But most most importantly it will make you feel something.
