Marriage and Space Saver
The only way I could get "permission" to toss out over 80 homemade VHS recordings of this and a couple other shows my wife "loved". The box set remains unopened months after the purchase. My ratings are based solely upon this being a great marriage and space saver for someone with a spouse/partner firmly anchored in the past.

Soft Rotten Tomatoes but Great Entertainment
Had no problems following this condensed two hour epic tale. I definitely have a watch list for any subsequent prequel/sequels.
The 3D rendering was excellent as well were the superbly balanced (L-R, front-rear, center) 5.1 surround sound speech and sound effects.

Good Sunday Night Movie
This is not a movie to be watched while texting friends. There is a lot going on that is only hinted at in the briefest of scenes. So, if you have a typical attention span and are easily distracted, I recommend something with more car chases and explosions.
On a more critical note, "Mortal Engines 3D'" 3D presentation was not nearly as good as that of its Marvel contemporaries or ever that of the 1993 "Jurassic Park" 2013 3D disk. I felt the 5.1 stereo soundtrack was under utilized and could have contributed much more to the movie had it been richer/ more involved.
I easily dismiss these perceived faults because I purchased "Mortal Engines 3D" not for its plot or production qualities but because it was 3D. As such, it makes a worthy addition to anybody's 3D collection and should be purchased while limited supplies are available.
And yes, I do very much intend to watch it again. Possibly just after another viewing of "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets 3D".
