The more I listen, The more I love
Well, I had this CD when it first came out in the 1970's on vinyl. I fell in love with laura's voice and already had known most of her songs since most of them were made popular by other artists. Somewhere along the way I lost the album. Laura's voice has such a sweet and soulful touch to it. It was a time when artists used REAL instruments and not electronic music. If you like to listen to "pure" soulful music then you will love Laura Nyro and her first songs. I love it.

J C Superstar, Greatest rock opera of all time!!!!
I had this record album of J C Superstar back in 1972 and I must say this remaster of the recording is very close to the quality of the vinyl original. The vocals are superb, the Rock band and orchestra are phenominal and the writing and arranging by Andrew Lloyd Webber is tops! This original broadway cast is in my opinion the BEST recording of this rock opera. Ian Gillan (from Deep Purple) makes a terrific Jesus Christ along with Yvonne Elliman whos sweet powerful voice makes a great Mary Magdalene. From the first song to the last it holds your attention with great lyrics and wonderful music! This is not an album you want to play JUST at the holidays. I, being a fairly religious person back then, thought this was a musical done in very poor taste...Till I listened and saw the musical done live in my town. Knocked my socks off. The combination of the full orchestra and the rock band was tremendous!!! If you get a chance to see this on stage, DO IT!! You'll love it and oh yes....BUY THE CD!!! You will be glad you did.
