My favorite Aretha Franklin music
This, by far, is my favorite Aretha cd. The famed Filmore West & the Queen of Soul came together for a great music's experience. Along w/Billy Preston, Cornell Dupree, Jerry Jermmott, Bernard Purdie, The Memphis Horns, King Curtis & the Sweethearts of Soul provided the backing for such classic performances as Respect, Love the one you're with, Bridge over troubled waters, Eleanor rigby, Make it with you, Don't play that song for me, Dr feelgood & Spirit in the dark. The 2 cd's give a glimpse into the 3 nites. Thanks to Ruth Bowen, her mgr, that asked for the recording since the venue couldn't pay her $20,000.00/nite concert price. The back & forth between Aretha & audience is too precious.
