NOS Gibson Guitar Case replacement handle for TKL G&G Les Paul fender strat prs

Great replacement handle for Fender case.

Perfect fit for my vintage Fender case. Instructions were helpful for removing part of the liner to access the old rivets for extraction and regluing with Elmers wood glue. I ended up using a sliding jaw set of pliers to press the split rivets tight after bending the split section with hardened steel Cresent needle nose pliers. I used a piece of plastic to protect the rivet head and bracket when pressing the rivet. Afterwards I realized it would have been useful to mill out a block with a cutout of the bracket shape using MDF, wood, or some type of plastic stock. That would have allowed the milled block to be clamped over the bracket and rivet head for pressing the rivet to proceed faster and prevent any possibke damage to the bracket or rivet head. My improvised plastic protector tended to move around when trying to compress the rivet head. A wrap of black tape on the plier jaws or similar protection would help as well. It took me about an hour to complete the job as a first try...taking time to access progress and not to make make any dumb mistakes Thanks for a great fix !
