This is everything a guitarist who loves Line 6 pedals could want.
2 of 2 found this helpful I have played in bands regularly for the last 20+ years. During the 80s, I was a metal-head guitar player, but I'd fill in on bass, and I ended up getting some studio work playing bass. I wound up putting together a nice bass rig, and I haven't played guitar a lot for years.
I decided to put a small studio back together, and I've been looking for a while for a good set of pedals, pedal board, or rack mount unit for guitar. I've always liked Line 6, and I have a few of their pedals (love the Uber Metal pedal), so this was an easy choice: 78 guitar amp models (including a LOT of classic and modern amp models), 28 bass amp models, a couple of dozen cabinet and mike models, TWO SEPARATE RIGS/GUITARS AT A TIME (run in parallel to different outputs), a full set of effects, and a back panel full of 1/4", XLR, digital, and USB outs to send sound to just about anything.
By the way, the review page is showing a red plastic 'bean' PodX3 to the left, but in reality, the PodX3 Live is a black metal-faced pedal board with about 8 chrome knobs, 12 chrome footswitches and a wah/volume pedal.
I agree with others who say that the presets are on the wimpy side. Just pick a sound with some distortion and start scrolling through the amp models, and you'll get an idea what this thing has to offer. There are both ultra-modern heavy and very classic sounds in SPADES! I can't wait until I have some time to set up some of my own presets.
This is everything a guitarist who loves Line 6's pedals could want, plus an outrageously huge barrel of extra features!

The too minimalist remote
I've had an Apple TV for several years, and at first, I really liked the minimalist design and durability of the remote. However, the D-pad type ring is spongy and a little inconsistent, so entering letters and numbers becomes a really annoying process (on top of how annoying it is not to have a keyboard or number pad. Using the phone app is better in some cases, but you must have the remote for certain things, and if you change your wifi configuration, it's the only thing you can use to update it (the apps work via wifi), and not everyone in the house has a phone with the app.
Unfortunately, I also have 2 boys who think it's the coolest thing to play with while they watch TV. It does feel great, but it's so small that it's EASILY lost. This is my biggest gripe, because this is now my third remote in the last several years.
The new Apple TV has some cool upgrades, but it's not 4K, and my 3rd gen unit works fine. I don't plan to upgrade any time soon, so maybe I should by another remote...

Tough, good-looking watch
3 of 3 found this helpful I’ve worn Timex Ironman watches for years while working out, mountain biking, climbing, etc., and I tend to wear diver’s watches or something like that when I’m at work. This watch falls in the middle, for me a bit more of a casual look, but still tough as nails The all-black design is more subtle than a lot of my other ‘dress’ watches, other than at night. I really like the tritium-based illuminated markers. The 12 o’clock marker is more of an orange color, while the rest are more of a yellow color. Sometimes it takes a second to verify the time, but it is always visible in the dark. This isn’t a cheap ‘leave it in the sunlight for an hour and it glows a few minutes’ system. This is the real deal.
Mine came with the fabric strap. I didn’t find it comfortable, and I can’t stand the way they look, so I replaced it with an OM rubber strap. It is very comfortable, and I like the way it looks. This is also substantially lighter than the rest of my dress watches, much closer to the weight of one of my Ironman watches.
