Great pad!
4 of 4 found this helpful I’m a snuggler, it doesn’t stop being true even when backpacking. My love is a saint who doesn’t mind when I end up on 2/3 of his sleeping pad trying to snug into him. I feel bad, though, so I invested in the Klymit Double V. I chose to take on the higher weight pad for the sake of affection with my partner. I love him enough to be a pack mule for a pad that’s 2lbs into the wilderness just so I can steal his delicious warmth near the alpine lakes.
This pad is great. Don’t waste your time with the bag “pump”, though, just inflate it yourself. It takes maybe three minutes on your own - “You get to blow it up since you didn’t grab a self inflating one, dumb dumb” he said right before I made doe eyes at him to blow it up for me anyway - but it is worth it. Boy is it ever. If you’re doubles backpacking, this is the best mat. The pressure distributed perfectly and he never felt me tossing and turning on the first night. It stayed inflated and the V shape actually makes a measurable difference in sleep quality. My love said he hasn’t slept that well outside on a pad in years.
This was the right choice and it’s worth the extra pound in weight if it means everybody stays off the ground, warm, and snuggled up.
