Many faces of Mickey Rooney in best comprehensive read yet
Mickey Rooney; he packed several lifetimes into one. This book is as heavy on his personal life (with very many warts-and-all details), as it is on his career highlights and his rise, fall, then rise again. There is much about his early days (strange childhood!) amazing comeback and trials/tribulations in later life. It's your guess how many of the anecdotes and hearsay within are gospel truth, but it sure is a fun read. His experiences were so varied, they would make for a compelling mini-series, but for now we have to settle for this book, the most comprehensive one yet available.

Lamp that surpasses expectations at this price-point
Beautifully crafted lamp with attractive tree-design metal base with a hint of copper coloring and above average workmanship on the shade. The shade itself has a nice array of colors, with a mixture of glass types (but not gaudy) and metal leaf design also forming a component of the shade. The lamp pair came in a box with custom designed foam pieces to prevent damage (and it did). I own several tiffany-style lamps and this one is one of the nicest and without a big price tag. I paired these lamps with medium oak color Queen Anne style end tables and a country cottage overall look. Not sure lighter colored furniture would look good with this style lamp. Also, the shade is wide, so that's also a consideration. Overall this two-pack surpassed my expectations at the price offered.

My favorite cleaner
Best wax product for furniture I've used. Doesn't leave a film, and is practically odorless, which is important. I collect old radios and this cleans and shines wood and bakelite. I'm going to try this in our bathrooms next....
