The definitive electric kettle

This is an excellent model. I have used one for over 10 years. Occasionally, it needs to be cleaned to get rid of limescale. That is not the kettle's fault. I just put in some citric acid powder and boil a kettle-full of water and then rinse. There seem to be some trolls in this review section. You always get them. It is great that the lid can be taken off, and it is dead easy to do so. The models with a non-removeable lid are a bit awkward to use. My daughter had one and its mechanism caused the kettle to fail. I removed the screws holding the lid in place and now that kettle is back in service. The models with the removable lid and the grip on it are the best ones. These go for £17.00 at Lidl's every autumn, under the heading "Back To College". That is the time to get them. Don't pay £32 or similar. Lidl's promotion also includes their excellent toaster, for the same price.
