Old School w "Boomer Upgrades"
1 of 1 found this helpful For Boomers who like "classic technology" (and still have landlines), this AT&T Digital Answering System Machine Model 1740 (herein "AT&T 1740"), is perfect.
Auditory cues walk you step-by-step through the initial set-up = "programming" the AT&T 1740 is possible for older generations; no need to summon grandkids away from their XBoxes. Now, I found it annoying that programming requires listening to the cues in a set order (no jumping to just the sections you wish to change) but my Boomer found it almost comforting and reaffirming when at the end of each repetitive auditory cue, he could proudly press the button to go to the next step.
In addition, AT&T 1740's buttons are large enough for those hard-of-seeing and/or with trembling fingers. And the buttons utilize clearly marked, universal symbols for stop, play, forward and delete.
With the AT&T 1740, I don't have to repeatedly endure the endless brrring-ing of unanswered calls to my hanai grandfather's house and now I may just leave a recording on his answering machine to call me back (on my cell😉) at his convenience. Plus, now he can screen all those annoying robocalls and scammers.
For less than $20, the AT&T Digital Answering System Machine Model 1740 has been a great investment for us all!
