Top quality construction, but not for EDC.
The M2R Pro Warrior is the third Olight flashlight I have owned. It is also, in my opinion, the highest quality flashlight I have owned. The problem I have with it is that it is just too darn big for the application I bought it for. In spite of all the online reviews, specs, and YouTube videos saying this or that, you really have to put your hands on one of these things to get the feel for the size and weight. My plan for this flashlight was for every day carry (EDC). That means the light would be in my pants pocket, all day long, with the clip holding it in place. However, I found the M2R to be too "present" in my pocket. It was always reminding you it was there. Putting your hand in your pocket to get something out was tough because the flashlight was always in the way. It made my pants fit wrong. It was too obtrusive.
All of that said, I have nothing but praise for the quality of the M2R. It is an awesome flashlight. Bright, durable, well-built; a Cadillac in the Olight lineup. I also have an S2R II (that works great for EDC). The M2R is just slightly better in terms of build quality. The side switch is softer, has a dimple to aid in finding it by feel, and has a better LED than the S2R. This matters to me because I live in a cold climate (-20 F is our low so far this winter) and I find the stiffer rubber on the S2R gets really stiff when it is cold - to the point where it is hard to turn the light on and off. The M2R side switch is far superior to the S2R switch.
I also like having the tail switch on the M2R. It can be problematic in turning itself on, but you can disable it by turning the tail cap just a quarter turn. I did this after I walked around the grocery store for half an hour with the flashlight on. A nice man pointed it out to me when I was in the checkout line by saying, "That is a bright flashlight". I looked down and saw the thing was on Turbo mode. After that I disabled the tail switch. All that said, I like having the option of the side or tail switch and I like that Olight saw fit to make it easy to disable the switch, either by accident or design. I don't know, but it works.
I really like the brightness, heft, and quality of the M2R. I have yet to find a home for it, but it's a keeper. I use an S2R II for my EDC now and it disappears in my pocket. The M2R is just too big and heavy for that application, for me.

Great little flashlight, but not Olight's best work
1 of 1 found this helpful This is the third Olight flashlight I have owned. I have found all the products I have bought from Olight to be top notch. I like the build quality, the method of recharging, and the brightness and quality of the beam.
The only reservation I have about the S2R II is the side switch. I also have an M2R Pro Warrior and the side switch on that flashlight is as good as it gets. It is soft and pliable. It has a nice click when you turn it on and off. It has the little nub in the middle of the rubber to make it easy to find with your thumb. Finally, the LED on that switch is bright and easy to see from any angle.
The switch on the S2R II is hard and stiff. It has kind of a numb action - no distinctive feel for when the switch is actuating. There is no nub, so I sometimes fumble around with the light trying to find the switch. And the LED on this light is faint and kind of hard to see if you are looking direction at the top of the switch - to the point where you can't even tell it is on in regular lighting.
One problem I've noted with the S2R II is that the switch gets really stiff when you have the flashlight out in the cold. I live in Wisconsin and it has gotten down to -20 F this winter. A couple of weeks ago I was outside getting firewood, using the flashlight for my lighting. After the S2R II had been exposed to the cold for a few minutes it took an inordinate amount of pressure to make the switch turn on and off. I have't testing the M2R in the cold yet, but I'm guessing the problem wouldn't be as pronounced since the rubber on that switch is softer.
Overall I like the S2R II as my EDC light. It is bright, small, tough, and light. The only flaw I have found, and it is a minor one, is the quality of the side switch.

Good seller, parts matched perfectly
Just what I expected for the car. The part number didn't exactly match the original part but it fit perfectly and I haven't noticed any change in the operation of the car so the problem has been fixed!
