Warne Maxima rings rock solid on Ruger #1
1 of 1 found this helpful Rings make a great, solid lockup on Ruger # 1 Single shot. They're a bit heavier than anticipated and a little fussy to install, but rock solid with no trouble keeping crosshairs level while doing the final tighten down as with horzontal rings.

Lightweight, legendary Pflueger performance with improved line management

I'd settled on the light weight of Pflueger President 25 for all day fishing, but the spool is just a bit too small to handle braid without twisting/wind knots. Voila! President size 30 Supreme. The magnesium body and carbon rotor bring it to within 0.3 ounce of a President 25, but with 10-15% greater casting distance.
Yes, braid line twist is SIGNIFICANTLY reduced. I used to replace the last 100 yards of Daiwa J8 or Berkley X9 braid after 3-4 days afield. I could EXPECT wind knots sometime during trip 5 or 6. I now expect 9-10 trouble free days with the slightly larger arbor of size 30 reels. Even buying braid in bulk, $6-$10 per refill quickly pays for the price difference between President and Supreme. The fact that this reel is salt/brackish water approved is just icing on the cake. I've cruised eBay to buy 2 additional. The larger arbor and magnesium body isn't just hype, but pays off on the water.

Redington ZERO. Awesome minimalist reel.
Highly recommended. Very light Minimalist reel, clicker drag - Just plain works well. Plenty of capacity for line and backer. I've used for everything from nymphing small stream Brookies to Bass and have yet to regret not having a mechanical drag. Palming the reel works fine, thank you, and the weight savings make this my favorite reel.
