My previous life
I have the anniversary VHS but just had to have the DVD edition. I can't say the picture is that much better on DVD but anyone who is into the Civil War era has to have this movie. I can watch it over and over and always find something I didn't notice before. This is a movie of a turbulent romance that goes through the years with the war and the slavery issues in the background. If you want some incite into the way of life of some people at this time, the fancy homes and balls, this will show it to you in living color. It also shows the hell of war and survival post-war.
