Ghosts of WWII In The Jungles
The photo's of war's aftermath is shown without the knowledge of what became of at least the aircraft's crews. Both American and Japanese fortifications allow the reader an ability to realize various outcomes. Interviews with veterans who were present at the different battles give an insight into why most of these islands stand as memorials to the thousands of Allied and Japanese combatants. My father was an aircraft armorer, beginning in Woodstock, Australia in 1942 and moved north to New Britain. This book and others I've discovered help explain what he never talked about.

Unlike the Pacific Theatre, Africa and Europe threw all types of weather at the "doggies" and exposed the many flaws in the U.S. supply system.
