Original Equipment Resistor Pack
The resistor pack is great. Unfortunately, the plug that connects to it is not and when it burns out, it damages the resistor pack. The shipping was very fast and the price was good. Replace the resistor pack and the stub wiring harness at the same time. It will save you time and headaches. The cost is only slightly more than buying the plug only and trying to splice it in to the existing harness. I wish some aftermarket mfg would produce a stub harness with this resistor pack hard wired in, eliminating the plug.

Probably Not What You Want
This service manual contains 28 pages of basic information. It was printed with the professional sewing machine mechanic in mind several decades ago and assumes that you already have a good knowledge of sewing machine repair. For me I found it to be of very little value while working on an Elna Supermatic. I was specifically looking for a wiring diagram to rewire a machine with messed up wiring. The info. provided in the manual referred to different wire colors but they had long since faded. I ended up having to pull the motor, etc. to determine what went where. The only useful piece of info was the shuttle drive gear installation. It can go on the shaft 2 different ways. But I had already marked parts and taken pictures so even that was of little value.

Good Quality But Not a Good Fit
The gear appears to be of good quality but the bore is too big. It is a loose fit on the shaft and requires bushing material to have it centered and firm on the shaft. Otherwise it will flop around on the shaft and not mesh properly with the mating gear. It is of a different material than the original.
