No more bleeding knuckles
I have been using the flat “L” shaped version of this tool for years so it took me a while to feel that the comparatively small price for this was worthwhile. Now that I have I no longer get bleeding knuckles on my right hand when the tool slips and I punch the teeth of the big ring.
A no brainer if you disassemble chainsets more 5an once a year.

Top quality casting and mechanism
I both sell and fit a lot of door furniture but my company recently stopped using this supplier. I was very disappointed. In my professional opinion many manufacturers compromise with sloppy moulding or poorly machined interfaces. This handle is of high finish quality with thick chroming (i have brass also). The bearing surface is exceptionally good with a strong but progressive spring. I seek this brand above all others regardless of price.

For the trail and not the workshop
This tool is by no means for use in the workshop, it should be kept wrapped up in its neoprene pouch with its little accessories until it’s needed. At that point it becomes invaluable. All the most regularly used hexes, chain splitter and spoke key. If you had an off or a whoop sue on the trail you’re covered, a catastrophic crash you’ve got a 50/50 chance. Small enough to store and just big enough to get some leverage.
