Concerned about the ovens external heat

I was excited to order a toaster oven with a Air Fryer. The unit looked great. Then my wife opened the owners manual and found the warnings to not use this oven under upper cabinets. don't use on a countertop that could be damaged by the heat. Unplug when not in use. (which resets the built in clock). We have upper cabinets and Formica counter tops. My wife didn't feel comfortable using this toaster oven/Air Fryer. So without using the unit we sent it back. Also It seems silly to have a clock on a unit that needs to be unplugged when not in use.
