Annika: Season One (Masterpiece) (DVD, 2021)

Lightweight with engaging cases

After reading other reviews I wasn't sure about buying but got a good price and I did like it. In fact, I'm waiting for the second season now. I just finished watching a series where the whole season (Shetland) dealt with one case and although it's one of my favorite programs, this had more cases and was a nice break.

Didn't live up to the first season

I enjoyed the first season but the characters became a little tedious in the second and third although I did watch them. It may be that I'm older and expect more but have been very disappointed on the latest BBC recommendations. I didn't care for 800 Words, Cloudstreet, Girlfriends, and didn't finish them. I love Agatha Raisin Series, Brokenwood Mysteries, and New Tricks. I think I'll just rewatch my old DVD's. I like when someone gives an example of what they like and I'll usually try it if their other recommendations are my favorites.

Engaging stories and characters

Really great episodes, especially the school shooting! I enjoyed the stories and characters but thought there were more sex scenes than were needed. It really is an R rating.
