Flawed, but engaging characters surviving in a brutal part of Africa
After seeing the poor reviews received, I must disagree. The Big Killing and Blood in Dirt reflect very well the dangers and political turmoil of West Africa. The Hero is twisted and flawed but the language and prose are not. Smart, Dark and brutal, this is NOT a RAMBO as described. The main characters are well conceived, weary, alcohol damaged and suffering from the fate of trying to survive in a very dangerous part of Africa.
I look forward to finding his first book.

Boring and simplistic. There are better on-line games that challange .
Strange beginning being a quest that never can get finished by any of the three ... realized then it was a tutorial of sorts.
Then I got into the game. Three characters to pick from.
Two scenarios regarding difficulty level.
All in all a mindless game that suited one that was bed ridden after two surgeries and used it for pain management.
It worked the game was more painful than the two gut and groin incisions. I would never play this again.

Jerry Baker
Jerry Baker, America's Master Gardener.
Proves to me that "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public." Please look elsewhere for gardening advice!
The Gardening world has many wonderful masters out there. Jerry Baker is not one! Outdated as well as often plain $%@!***.
This is from a nursery manager of ten years, Rare plant propagator and self employed "master nurseryman" for thirty and more. I totally despise self made experts like the above. Throw in seedsman extraodinair 'Ed Hume' as well
I do not know if this link works but will try http://mastergardners.blogspot.com/
Anyhow I do recommend 'The American Horticultural Society' Encyclopedia of Gardening, 'Readers Digest Encycopedia of Garden Plants and Flowers' Nothing to do with Readers Digest. Finally ... subscribe to the best garden magazine around. The BBC Gardeners World. They have a website as well.
Jerry Baker expertize expired years ago, if it ever existed at all. Buy books by new and on topic authors of the years 2000!
