1 of 2 found this helpful One BIG problem with this toaster: It's designed for old-fashioned, square pieces of sliced bread, NOT the now-common (at least in the U.S.) "wide-pan" variety of sliced loaf. In other words, it's fine for "toaster waffles" or English muffins, but NOT for the typical 5-1/2 inch wide slice of bread which is now the norm in the U.S.
Secondly, it is not as "cool" to the touch as one would imagine from the description. The outside surface isn't any cooler than any other toaster after it's been on for a while. That is to say, it's not scalding, but I wouldn't go moving it around willy-nilly when it's hot.
Other than that, it's a pretty standard toaster, controls are precise, it looks nice (I got the black one), and it browns evenly.
Bottom line, I'll have to buy a ANOTHER toaster to be my main toaster for bread, while I can only use this one for literally "little" stuff. So, when I add the two together (i.e., this toaster and the bigger one I'll have to buy), I will NOT have saved any money at all.
