Leslie Ades - a selling genius
Haven’t read the book yet but Leslie Ades was my teacher for sales at Cal State - Fullerton. Learned so much from him so book has to be great. He was first to tie sales approaches to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. You will benefit from anything you read and learn from Leslie Ades. He predicted I’d do well in sales and been doing it 18 years now.
Still remember our first day of class with him and he had each student state their name and tell about themselves. When the last of about thirty students was done, from memory he rapidly went down from the first to last student without hesitation correctly recalled our first names for all 30 or so of us and got a huge applause. I’d almost bet he’d know my name right now and I haven’t seen him in 35 years! He knows how to leave a lasting impression on you. At the time of our class he told of being an encyclopedia salesman for Encyclopedia Britanica setting a company record of selling 30 sets in 30 days ...all door-to-door.
His explanation and example are so downright logical you can’t help improve you selling abilities. I recall him saying that if you walk in an office and the person has a marlin on the wall, it obviously means something to the individual so play off of it. Yet how many sales people will shoot themselves in the foot and say something stupid like “my brother-in-law caught one twice that big in the Gulf of Mexico.” He said “you don’t care if the guy has a minnow hanging on the wall......it’s the biggest you have ever seen!”
So I am anxious to read this book as it will undoubtedly contain some of the best sales advise ever published.

Epson 252 cartridges
Do the math. At any store or office supply you get 4 cartridges and at best only the black is XL (3 times the capacity of a non XL) and at a club store you are looking at $55 + tax making it about $60. I spent about $7 for the same except all my cartridges were XL (not just black). At an office store a single standard (not XL) cartridge runs $15 + tax. So for $7 with no tax and no shipping cost, I got 4 cartridges and each with 3X the ink. That is 12 times the quantity for $7 or 24 times the quantity for $14 and no tax. So even save a dollar plus tax to boot.
