The Quintessential EDC Knife
6 of 6 found this helpful Not to expensive, not to cheap, made in China - but this (Spyderco Contract Manufacturer) does an excellent job! The blade is made from common 8CR13 (Chinese AUS8) steel, with an even grind on both sides. Arrived sharp and after a few passes over the "Fine" Crock sticks set at 20-degrees, was hair-shaving sharp! Good blade centering in handle, Liner-lock edge is completely covered by the blade with excellent lock-up. Blade pivot tension is set just right! Handle scales over stainless liners are nicely done in G10 with comfortable rounded edges. Knife feels well balanced and lighter than expected. Wide stainless pocket clip with 4-point mounting provided to suit all types of carry needs (left/right, tip-up/down). Over-all not to big, not to small, fills the hand nicely, perfect size for an EDC knife, or in a pinch as a defensive or back-up blade. Big enough to get the job done, but won't raise eyebrows when opened in public. Good Job Spyderco!!! Excellent product design, engineering & manufacturing!!! All at a very reasonable price point. Great light pattern!
I have two of these now, one for work & one for home. Like my other Inova flashlights, it has a smooth consistent light pattern, free from lines or artifacts. The high & low settings are nice, and all Inova flashlights are built solid and will probably outlast me. The tail-cap is rotated to turn the light on/off and to choose between hi/low settings, it can be very stiff at first, but a drop of oil on the threads will help smooth things out. The batteries in mine seem to last longer than advertised, so they are a good value. I add a small keyring to the tail-cap, makes it easy to rotate using just my thumb. You can index the On position with the top of the pocket-clip, then using the added keyring as a reference you always know how far the cap needs to turn to On. Light weight, solid build, great light pattern, weather proof, it's always there when you need it! You can rotate the tail-cap to just before the On position, then press-down on the end for a momentary on/off function, or rotate it back about half a turn (lock-out) and there's no chance to turn on accidentally in your pocket. Also makes a good self-defense tool, the momentary bright light (144 lumens) can be used to distract an attacker, while the light body can be used as an improvised Kubotan. 5-Stars!!!!!+++++

For belts up to 1 3/4" wide, for all TDI & BK14/24 Sheaths
These are great belt-clips for use on the KaBar brand knife sheaths for all sizes of TDI and Becker BK14/24 (EsKaBar) knives. I have these on my large & small TDI knife sheaths, and also on my BK14 EsKaBar knife sheath. If you need to mount on a belt wider than 1 3/4", use the nylon/velcro straps from the Large TDI knife sheath, they utilize the same mounting holes on the various sheaths that this belt clip uses. You can purchase a spare Large TDI knife sheath (sheath with straps attached) on Ebay for around $10, then migrate the straps over to the desired sheath for use on the wider belt sizes. Note: these clips (and straps) are only set-up for vertical carry. Probably have to look for a custom kydex/leather sheath if you want to horizontal-carry any of the KaBar products.
