These earbuds are unbelievable !!
Having owned many iPods, I have a distinct distain for the Apple earbuds. I therefore have purchased the single and dual driver Shure earbuds for travel, and have been somewhat happy with them. But on one vacation, I managed to lose a pair...which coincided with the review of M-Audio's IE-40. After reading the glowing reviews on them, I decided to buy a pair. In a word, UNBELIEVABLE !! Crystal clear highs...powerful yet not boomy bass...and they seem to add no coloration in any part of the audio spectrum. They are actually comfortable, hearing-wise, to listen to...by that, I mean that they do not tax your hearing; there's no straining to hear anything. If you listen to rap (which I don't), the Dr. Dre earbuds may be a better choice (they BOOM bass)...but for any other kind of music, nothing else that I have ever tried touches the IE-40's. I believe that KEYBOARD magazine called them the best earbuds made, period. The only problem that I have come up with is that they reproduce EVERY little detail and nuance...which discloses every flaw in the 128 Kb/s encoding rate. You might want to start encoding your stuff at 256 or 320...which takes up more room on your memory...and, if you have over 7000 songs like I have, means that I would be re-encoding for the next two years to bring my MP3's up the the performance of these earbuds.
In short, if you really like music, BUY THESE EARBUDS. They will really raise the bar with any music device that you have...and with any use, be it in your living room, in loud public places, in an airplane, or even on stage monitoring the stage mix. They truly make listening much more pleasurable.

Nice case
This case is nice overall...but...my only complaint is that the sides could use a little bolstering...they flex in a way that SKB cases don't. Latches/handles/wheels are all top notch.
