Battery/starter & charge tester

Branded Lancol Micro-200, this is a multi-function capacitance tester for the masses. If like me, you have a multitude of car and leisure batteries powering various vehicles including 2 cars, a campervan and motorbike, you are likely to have your hands full ensuring they are are kept in tiptop condition. The Micro 200 tester is a low cost comprehensive tester that enables you to monitor your batteries and with regular checking, predict their replacement. With several pre-programmed standards and the ability to test standard flooded, AGM , Gell & spiral cell batteries pretty much all your automotive related battery testing is covered. Unlike old style drop testers and multimetres the battery doesn't need to be fully charged to facilitate diagnosis. this tester will display how effective the battery remains compared to when it was new and display % life remaining. As an example: I had two similarly aged 70ah batteries, one displaying 12.82 volts with 90% rated capacity (compared to new) the other, just taken off charge at 13.1 volts displaying only 24% of original capacity and a warning TO REPLACE. It doesn't stop there, this unit also has starting (cranking) and charge testing modes, where it instructs the user through several steps to check and diagnose each of these systems. Relatively low cost (I paid under £26.00 UK) this puts professional style auto electrical testing within the reach of everyone with the need. I can't recommend more highly. The unit itself is built well enough, perhaps not up to professional standards but looks and feels robust enough for regular if not everyday use.

OEM ..as fitted by many electronics companies from new, Maxell are a reliable and quality supplier for things like Motherboard bios backup, bathroom scales etc. Not really much more I can say other than I personally feel confident using this brand.

Difficult to assemble and not very robust.

This took two of us nearly a day to assemble. Very complicated and I'm an ex mechanic. Every panel rattles and moves, the whole frame can also twist popping out the larger side panels. In the end we purchased 3 tubes of clear outdoor silicon and literally sealed each and every panel with a 'bead of silicon around all four sides (that's a lot of sealing). This stopped the panels falling out and made the whole greenhouse more rigid. Its not that bad now but don't be under any illusions that without sealing the panels the whole thing will move and panels will fall out in blustery conditions.
