An Amazing book in every way
This book has all the attributes of a wonderful, reminiscent, and visual must have for parents, and aunts or uncles, especially for the grandparents to have on hand for children. Old time prose that should never be forgotten, imaginative and the illustrations of a simpler slower era.
Can you imagine a time when a simple country picnic under a large oak tree? A time, after the children have been running and exploring the near by creek. It is time for lunch, in the shadow of the tree and warmth of the day. The children are tired and full, a comfortable, contented hush and restfulness time of day overcomes them. Mommy gets out a book like this one, the children laying around her maybe watching the sky or the leaves of the tree or across the field or maybe the lazy creek, Mom's soft and gentle voice brings this book alive.
Their imagination starts drift upon them. What a wonderful time and place.
