Old school quality cable
I was surprised to see this NOS cable and went ahead and purchased it. Although it sat in a box on a shelf for about 40 years, it was still as pliable as I remembered. I don't know who Tandy Corp had manufacturing for them but I always found it to be a good quality cable. It was half the price of Rg213 and I have no difference in performance at my station. Being a 50 ft piece, any loss it may have compared to the 213 isn't noticeable on the meter or over the air.

A honey for the money!
Very nice product for the money, I used it the other day for about 45 minutes. I have gone through about a half dozen of these since I got my Karcher back in 1997. I'm hoping that it will stand up for a couple of seasons of use. Being a professional painter, we do a lot of exterior washing before we paint.

The early 2970 from Mirage had one issue.....
First off, the radio is one heck of a talker and is very stable on sideband. That being said, the receive on SSB sounds as if you are listening on a blown speaker. Actually, the tiny speaker in the radio sounds better than any of the external speakers that I tried with it and I have quite a few. According to some of the sites that I was on, the front end of the radio gets overloaded due to a issue with the AGC circuit. Fortunately, I work on my own radios and can change the values on a few resistors to help clear it up. In the meantime, I have to turn the RF gain down to help take the warble out of the receive. Not the end of the world for me but could be costly to anyone who sends the radio out for service. I have friends who run the 2970 (later version) and the 2970n2. The later radios are the ones to go for that come under the RCI name. If you are going to use it as a mobile be aware that they don't like the bitter cold and take a while to come to temperature if it's below freezing.
