Deere G100 - Time Will Tell
This bracket is well made, and no heavier than it has to be. Why want a light bracket when you are ADDING weight? So you don't have un-needed weight when you take the weights off.
The design is just right for quite a number of John Deere lawn and garden tractors, but not the G100. To get it to fit the G100 I mounted the upper part to the part of the steel fender deck just over the gas tank. That meant a lot of pulling the deck and gas tank to make holes and cut notches (so the sparks didn't reach the gas tank) then putting it all back, remarking, taking it off, etc. But it DID go on, and seems reasonably secure. I'll likely add some fender washers to distribute the upper bolt stresses a bit more. And I'll have to keep an eye for signs that the bouncing of the weights against the thinner deck steel is causing any metal fatique.
So, it CAN be MADE to work with a G100, but as to how long it will be OK... tim will tell.
It sure beat other alternatives cost-wise!

Lube MORE OFTEN
A well lubricated bicycle chain is amazingly efficient. A poorly lubricated chain is less effficient and accelerates wear on not just the chain but front and rear gears.
Some testing indicates that this may not be the absolute best chain lube on the market, but the difference between lubing and not lubing is bigger than the differences between the better chain lubes.
I have used this brand chain lube for years with great success, but always flinched at the cost. This bottle helps a LOT with the pain of the cost. And that means I lube more often. I CAN feel the difference in the drive train.
BTW: I got some needle oilers (3 PACK 1/2 OZ PRECISION HIGH QUALITY OILER BOTTLES NEEDLE MICRO TIP APPLICATOR ) when I got this bottle. The spray, on narrow pattern, is just right to refill small bottles. And the needle oilers get just a drop or two on each link where it is needed, rather than all over the plates, where it only attracts grit. Net result: better lubrication and yet another cost saving, with less cleanup after each application.

Great rear door assist for camper van!
These are designed for a side door. With the addition of ONE Plus Nut AND a little "embiggening" of an upper hole in the handle it works GREAT on the rear doors of a low roof Ford Transit.
The existing 10mmx1 threaded hole in the upper part of the Transit rear doorway makes for a VERY solild attachment. And there is JUST (barely) enough metal available at the lower hole to get an effective plus-nut in.
These have made a HUGE difference to me in being able to reach the rear of the roor, or just get in and out the back of the van!
The cosmetic nits on this "take off" were VERY minor. It looks almost as good as it works.
Great price for a great feature.
BTW: if you DO "embiggen" holes for rear door use, remember to MIRROR which holes you modify!
