Perfect for beginners.
Beginners are inclined to drop stitches. These are a little rough and the yarn doesn't slide easily, so they are less apt to drop stitches.
Knitting polishes the needles and by the time beginners have stopped dropping stitches, the needles are smooth and work great.
An experienced knitter will find them a little rough in the beginning, but they will quickly polish and work very well.

Solid good quality tool - very handy to have.
Worked great on my aluminum chassis. The thickness probably exceeded the limits mentioned on the package, but it held up and did the job.
