Very nice craftsmanship, but cracks easily in the corners.
The case in itself is very nicely crafted. The two parts of the case fit very nicely together and the magnetic coupling holds well. The only issue I found is that the case (top part) has a crack in one of the rounded corners. I may be able to fix it, but that doesn't account for the weakness of the case.

As always, Gates quality is the best! I remembered the I bought one of these for my 1993 Civic a yer ago and have not had any issues. I got this one for my roommate's car (his is a 1994 Del Sol with the same engine) and took care of the noise that sounds similar to a water pump failing. Took care of the noise and works like a charm!

Neat novelty item, but not made for long term uses.
The Good:
The light output is nice and gives off enough glow to light an area up about the size of a four-man tent.
It has multiple colors to choose from that can be used for different accents or moods.
The not-so-good:
The touch pad on top decides when towers or don't work. Turning on or off is tricky and requires a delicate touch (no pun intended).
In order to get to the color you want, you must "scroll" through every one of them until you find the one you want. It doesn't have a "memory" of the last color used, so you have to find it every time you turn the unit on.
The battery doesn't seem to charge to full capacity. It lasts about 3 hours from a "full charge" before it does a strange light dance and turns itself off.
Overall: It's a neat light, but has its quirks and temperaments. I don't really recommend it for those wanting a true light for actual use. It's a neat novelty, the value is descent, but its general quality is something that is lacking. I was looking for an evening light that would be good for winding down before bed, and something that would be relatively easy to use, but since its operation functions weren't what I wanted, I had given it to a friend to have fun with. he seemed to like it and was something he was able to make use of. He also agreed that the battery didn't seem to last to long between charges, but maybe was just a typical defeat of mass production.
