Dewalt green laser
1 of 1 found this helpful I did a lot of research before I purchased this unit. I do not make spontaneous purchases this expensive. I am over pleased with its performance. I used this outside to square and layout sonotube piers for a deck. Even on a bright day I could see the line at 20 feet. Not bright but it was there. It would not show if in direct sunlight.
In doors it's great and a dark room it's fantastic.
Get the green line only. Red is not the same
The rechargeable pack makes it worth it. You would blow through a lot of AA if you don't have this feature
The case and clips are great and the magnet is very strong. To strong.
The draw back is there no fine tune of the height. If you try to hit a specific spot on the wall or floor the magnet is so strong you have a difficult time adjusting it up and down small amounts. When you try to slide it the magnets hold fast and you move it to much.
A simple fix would be to have a screw knob adjustment so that if you get the line close with the magnet you could turn a knob and fine tune it to hit your mark.
Over all if your thinking about getting one, then this is the unit. You won't be disappointed
