Sometimes Oldies ARE Goldies!
Not a bad kit! A little basic compared to kits produced from state of the art molds BUT with a little TLC, some scratch building & some aftermarket parts you can absolutely turn this model into a showstopper!

A great touch for an already acceptable 21st century model kit!
Photo-etch parts have become a mainstay among serious model builders over the past thirty odd years. The latest iteration of Revell's P-51B Mustang is already a very decent model kit but there are a few areas where it could serve to be improved; That's where this lovely little photo-etched set comes in. With the proper bending tools these parts fit perfectly into the assembly process as each one is designed specifically to be applied to this model kit. I would absolutely recommend this & the Revell kit to anyone unwilling (or unable) to pay for the brand new Arma Tech kit.

Sword Models Delivers Another GREAT Model!
I don't even remember when the first Sword models came out. All I remember is that they filled niches in the model selections of modelers all over the world; So long as you were quick enough to catch them before they went out of production. This kit was absolutely no different in that it provided an accurate & sleek looking NEW mold Fiat G.55 Centauro as opposed to the ancient kits that occasionally get cycled in & out of production. Even better is that this kit includes TWO complete kits & SEVEN different paint schemes to choose from which allows my 19 y/o son & I to each choose one for a collaborative build session.
Overall like all Sword Model Kits each of those contained in this single box are limited run model kits. They are missing things like locating tabs & pins which requires great care when building them. While most limited run kits have very wide sprue gates making part removal from them a challenge that's not a factor with these two beauties. Furthermore flash is absolutely minimal; I've seen worse on mainstream manufacturers' new(ish) kits. The only two options really provided for the kit, apart from the markings, are an option between two different vertical stabilizers/rudders.
Like most modern kits it has finely recessed panel lines & a well ordered cockpit with sidewall, canopy floor, seat, console, control stick & rudder bar. Also included is a single Polyurethane resin piece to add critical detail to the inside section of the wheel wells where the wing mates to the fuselage. The landing gear bay also depicts internal construction features & a piece to box off the gaping hole that would be visible from the front deep into the back of the wing.
The ONLY drawbacks I see off hand are the need for a canopy mask, flight harness belts/buckles, the kit lacks a bulkhead behind the pilot's seat to at least partly conceal the empty fuselage behind the seat & the tail wheel bay could've used further detail. All of which are easily remedied by a modeler with a modicum of skill. Besides these mere speed-bumps in production the only real disappointment that stands out in my mind is that out of 7 decal options it does not provide any examples of the type as they appeared in Luftwaffe service.
