Works surprisingly well
You have a couple of choices: (1) Use the paper filter with the plastic circle on top or (2) take the time to fit the aluminum foil tops on the capsule. The instructions are clear and if you follow them you probably won't have any problems. I used the paper filter option first and it worked perfectly, but the second time not so much. Maybe I didn't fill the Vertuoline capsule well enough. The aluminum foil option has never failed but I did notice that once when I didn't fill the capsule just right I had a slight problem getting the Nespresso machine using my refill. (I unplugged it then plugged it back in to reset - but I've had to do that with standard Vertuoline capsules on occasion.) Also, I should note that you can probably only use the old Vertuoline capsules a limited number of times because they might get dented up and cause some problems with the machine reading the barcodes under the capsule rim. Great product, though.
