the heart of great rock and roll!
This box set is from heart which is one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time. What this is not however is a box set of rarities and other tracks that the band deserves as a career overview. However this box set contains the classic discs :"little queen", "dog and butterfly" and "bebe le strange" all remastered with bonus tracks. Therefore this makes this a better buy than buying the three releases seperately. Heart was always a strong band with the two wilson sisters who unlike many of the sad excuses for women in music today could actually play numerous instruments and were truly creative. And the music is great of course with that seventies earth woman type of rock on the first two discs. The last is a more driven early eighties groovfest of solid rhythms and great guitar playing. " Rocking heaven down" is probably one of rocks better songs from the early eighties and was a fm staple back then. Of course the three discs have lots of hits on them and that only makes the listening a greater pleasure because true talent was rewarded back then with radio play. Fans were not impressed with sampling they wanted real artists and this box set delivers three great albums for a great price. And even with the passage of time the three discs sound as fresh and wonderful as they did back then.

great pop from a pop master
This cd is filled with great pop songs from a master of pop Tommy james. there are several styles of pop here too, electronic and rock based and both are very well played and sung. There isn't a bad song on this one and it's better than tj's last effort. Hi fi , however you do have a story concept to listen to and that's ok but as cool as that is , it may turn off some people. But fans of solidly written pop that is made with real style and ability should enjoy this one.
