Knocking Halo of its pedestal
1 of 1 found this helpful when Game informer gave call of duty 4 a ten I was a little cautious. after all they also recommended contra 4 which was a nightmare. however when I played through modern warfare, I was astounded by it's graphics, story, and fluid gameplay. shooting through walls is a cool idea, but while the environment is destructible, it isn't just a run of the mill battlefield. my personal favorite level was the level after the training mission. as I infiltrated a ship that was thought to have been transporting nuclear weapons, I was impressed by how the level would sway from side to side. after we found the nuke, an explosion was triggered in the ship, and we had to evacuate with the level swaying to 45 degree angles. the multiplayer is incredible. while I had fallen in love with halo three's forge mode, call of duty's multiplayer was even better despite how you couldn't customize your own maps. your team may have less than amazing AI such as standing in the way of a flash grenade, but this is the only flaw. a must have for any shooter fan and still a great game for casual gamers. deserves every bit of praise that you find online.
