Awesome lightheated movie with a beautiful message.
This is a wonderful foriegn film with subtitles unless you speak french but no worries....you will be able to follow it and it will become one of your favorite movies. It does something that most movies fail to do. It has a beautiful message. It shows an act of kindness that makes this a feel good movie you will want to watch again. I originally rented it because I like foreign films with subtitles and the smiling Amelie looked so French with that smile it intrigued me to read the jacket. I really enjoyed watching it so much I decided to buy it because it made me feel good and plus it was very humorous to boot. If you watch only one foriegn film in your life...this should be it. There is a reason why it got 5 Academy award nominations and it definitely is well deserving. It is a masterpiece of light hearted entertainment. Awesome movie...We need more like this. :)

Timeless laughter from yesteryear that is still Classic today
One of the all time classics that was politically incorrect but corrected itself between the engaging dialog between the Bunkers and Jeffersons. It was a time when everyone laughed. Archies ignorance was always put in check by Lionel or George which was hilarious. Edith was loving and so was Louise who together bonded a warm friendship and kept their men in check. This show would be banned if it were to come out today where words are weighed with scrutiny and judgement. It was cutting edge in the 70's and has not lost a beat 50 years later.

When Television had a Moral Compass
Wife and I enjoy watching these old shows on the laptop during dinner. Threw out my TV 20 years ago and watch old sitcoms on DVD . Is it just me or are there others who can watch the likes of My Three sons, Andy Griffith, Dick Van Dyke, the Honeymooners, All in the Family and similar shows over and over and never get bored. Why? Because they had a moral compass that made you feel good. A time when people cared and even though Mayberry is a make believe town....who among us would not want to live there?
