Works well with some install glitches that are easy to work around

This sleek black Motorola 2247-N8 is an all in one gateway,wireless and wired router for Standard DSL Services (not U-Verse). The wireless range is about average for units with no external antenna. The connection speed and surfing speed is fine. Forget the install disk and use your browser to install. 90% percent will self install using the GUI interface through your internet browser. The other 10% of the modems you will need to know your VPI/VCI numbers and manually put them in and then all is well. Using the GUI interface is pretty straight forward and not to hard to follow. Now just released is a 2 part Firmware upgrade from Motorola which makes use of the back USB port and some nice changes to the internet interface. I have installed the upgrade and recommend the install. The one problem is you will lose the multiple (SSID) feature. All in All I have had very good luck installing and using these Gateways. So if you have standard DSL and are in need of more features then a single slot modem, and mega wireless coverage is not needed, then this gateway is worth looking into.

Big size, easy to read numbers-But____

Alarm beeps were not loud enough, barely noticed in another room with a fan running. The magnet should be stronger also, could easily be knocked off a metal door by a slight brushing. So extra care is needed or the item will fall to the floor.
