Classic art rock!
Great CD! Wonderful musicianship and solid songwriting. Really nice to hear these songs again after all these years.

Not an improvement over the standard definition version.
While this is technically a Blu-ray format DVD, there is virtually no improvement over the original standard definition version. In fact, this version of Rush in Rio might actually be a step down from the original. While the picture is brighter, the high definition aspect only accentuates the limitations of the original film. The video is at times pixilated, at times even blurry.
What’s worse is that the sound is tinny and murky and the volume fluctuates periodically throughout. What a disappointing mess.
I was excited to upgrade from my standard def version to the clarity and improved audio of Blu-ray, but alas, the original is more enjoyable to watch and listen to than this.
The only caveat is that what was once a two disc set is all on one disc now, including the excellent “The Boys in Brazil” documentary.
If you already own this DVD don’t waste your money “upgrading”. Sadly, it’s just not very good.

Robin Trower at the peak of his power!
Amazing recordings. Trower in his prime with the late great James Dewar on bass and vocals. A must have for Trower completists.
