Good Looking and Good Looking. (And good customer service)
I ordered this gas cooktop for a 1968 Airstream that I gutted and rebuilt. The readily available RV cooktops are not very attractive, and are too small for a 12" skillet and a large pot at the same time. This is a good looking but compact cooktop, and the burner arrangement allows 2 large pots/pans at the same time; on the 2 hottest burners. I doubt you could really get 4 pots/pans at the same time, but you can shuffle 2-3 around on various size burners.
The grates are designed to support the pot & pans over the entire cooktop surface, so you don't need to worry about them tipping over. Grates on other manufactureresnonly support a pan exactly centered over the burner.
The cooktop shipped with an extra set of jets to switch over from Natural Gas to Propane. Instructions included tell you which jets go where, though you will need a microscope to read the stamped orifice size on the jets.
My only issue was with the thermocoupler that turns off the gas if the flame goes out. (A newly mandated federal safety regulation) Something went wrong and the thermocoupler kept shutting off the gas. Very frustrating. But Empava was great and sent out a replacment the next day. Took less than an hour to switch the jets to propane and swap the cooktops out, so I can't complain.
Looking forward to many years of gourmet "glamping".
