Heat by Bill Buford (2006)
2 of 2 found this helpful If you love food and cooking, you'll love this book. It provides an inside look into the people and the workings of a four star restaurant. Mario Batelli is Falstaffian in his appetites and his character. Buford's trips to Italy provide great insight into the way food was made in the old country. It's well written by a New Yorker Magazine contributor. If you liked bad boy Tony Bourdain's "Kitchen Confidential", you'll love this. It's been on the Times best seller list for weeks. Don't wait for the paperback.

These are small picks.
0 of 1 found this helpful These picks are small compared to standard picks. They're the same "small" size as the regular Jazz III picks; namely, 1 inch tall and 13/16 of an inch wide. Standard pick size is 1 3/16" tall and 1" wide. You can't tell by looking at the picture. I couldn't find any explanation of that on the Dunlop website.
