Good Quality IR Thermometer
This is a low-cost semi-professional product, that provides reliable, accurate readings. It's easy to use and quite rugged; it's literally a "point and shoot" device, that gives instantaneous readings that are accurate enough for home or semi-professional use.
The display is easy to read, and easy to understand. There's really not much that can go wrong. Best results are obtained when the beam is perpendicular to the face whose temperature you want to read.
The only "complication" is setting the emissivity. While there is a guide, getting the right emissivity setting for any IR thermometer is the same process; it's just a "best guess".

Easy to Install - with One Small Exception
This does exactly what it should do. It's very easy to replace if you take your time and watch the many videos on YouTube. It took me about an hour from start to finish. I'm a 69 years old woman....
It brought my sparkly and dull picture back to "as new".
I've taken one star away because - although the picture quality was excellent right away - contrary to what the guidelines said I would need to do, I did need to align the DLP board because the image sloped a little and text was not parallel with the top and bottom of the TV frame. That's not so much a fault of the chip, but poor design with the way the board it's mounted on influences the image geometry.. Getting the alignment exactly right on my particular TV was a bit "hit and miss", and technically very crude.
