A Great Shaver and a Great Value
Had I known how improved both battery technology and shave technology has become, I would have gladly retired my Braun 5005 (corded only) much sooner. The F5 provides a faster, comfortable shave, including the problem spots I had to really scrub at with my old shaver. The faster, easier shave means less irritation. The water clean-up is also great, and no brushing to clean it means the cutters should last far longer. The battery life has been impressive as well. The last time I tried a cordless shaver, it seemed I always had to have it on charge - not so the F5. The cord/cordless functionality is nice to fall back on if needed (though it hasn't been necessary since the battery life display means I know in advance when it needs to charge), and it can charge enough for a shave very quickly in a pinch.
While I'm sure the higher end shavers probably provide an even more impressive shave, I can't imagine the difference being worth the significant jump in price they command.
As a frugal guy and a creature of habit, I'm definitely happily with the F5 enough to not miss my old shaver and enough to not feel I'm missing out on much with the higher end shaver options..

great out-of-print classic! a very worthwhile read
1 of 1 found this helpful 'how i found freedom in an unfree world' was recommended by several of my on-line mentors at the huna-ohana yahoo group. while it's clearly 30 years old, harry browne's book is timeless - still timely and a great inspiration to living free of the self-imposed restrictions (traps) we tend to fall into. harry has a great way of giving an often totally different perspective on many topics while emphasising that his views are precisely that - his views. decidedly potentially challenging to some, his ideas are presented in a solidly logical fashion - he does not appeal to the emotions or pull on your heart strings. harry invites the reader to identify and embrace their own views while encouraging them to avoid the traps that reduce their freedom. he also offers suggestions on how to achieve and maintain freedom from the traps, and the few self-examination exercises he offers are free of fluff and to the point. you owe it to yourself to check out this amazing book - it will very likely change your world by changing the way you look at your world. it's decidedly pricey, as it's both highly recommended and out of print but there are other options than buying a printed copy now too (it's available as an affordable e-book at store.huna-ohana.com, along with some other incredible wisdom and insight). whatever way you get your hands on 'how i found freedom', it's well worth every bit of effort - you'll be hard pressed to not have it change your perspective on at least part of your assumptions, beliefs, and approach to life.
