In Harm's Way
3 of 3 found this helpful The movie was directed by Otto Preminger around 1965, and used all scene locations in the State of Hawaii. It was, in my opinion, a much better way to recreate the era of which the story took place, which was the first few months after Pearl Harbor.
I first saw the movie on network television in July 1976, when I served on a US Navy Ship (USS Valdez FF-1096), so the scenes shot on the US Navy Ships were indeed accurate in detail. When I again caught it a couple of years ago on a satellite movie channel service, it was only in the last movies' 1/2 hour that I could watch, thus I made it a point to condider purchasing it.
Not many movies can boast a cast like John Wayne, Kirk Douglas, Burgess Meredith, Henry Fonda, Patricia Neal, Paula Prentiss, Patrick Neal, George Kennedy, and other actors at the top of their careers.
If you are looking for an action thriller, with loads of special effects, big fighting scenes, and on screen steamy sex, then this is not the movie for you.
This movie was written with only subtle references in the class of motion pictures that you could take your entire family to the theatre to see without embarassment, before the ratings system became established.
Shot in black and white and not in color, it adds to the quality because you are looking at crisp contrasts, instead of possibly faded color dyes in the film processing.
Please purchase this film, as an example of what a great motion picture was in the 1960's.

LCD Cover Drawback
I purchased this Samsung phone in 2007, after having a previous Samsung model which I liked. Within 1 month after purchase, the LCD cover that shows the time and signal strength in number of bars became non-functional. In other words, because the phone was kept in a pants pocket (I distrust belt clips as I tend to lose or beark items clipped on the belt) along with a pen, etc., the LCD readout stopped working and is now just a momentary nightlight. Operaqtion of the cell phone is fine. It serves my purpose very well, even though I do not use over 1/2 of the functions like web browsing, downloading ring tones, photographs, etc. My drawback to the phone model is just the LCD cover.

1st Season of a great Series
DVD of the series The West Wing. Beats watching just YouTube clips and shows each actor in their roles completely.
