Forest master 7 tonne log splitter
Only used it once so far but impressed with its ability. Not only did it come with a stand but also a safety cage. WITHOUT the stand or cage it can be stored standing vertically ‘on end’ in a corner and takes up very little room. Both the stand and cage when assembled would, I think, greatly increase the space the splitter would take up. Consequently, due to lack of room I have assembled neither. I am not advocating using the splitter without the safety cage mind you, some logs split with a bang and the two halves can fly several yards which could endanger people (including the operator),cars,windows and anything else in the firing line. I will continue without but use it well away from breakables and with protective clothing, full face mask etc.
I went for the Forestmaster particularly because of the ‘duo blade’ ie a splitting wedge at either end which seems to be very effective. The ram stop device is useful too but doesn’t look very robust. If you chainsaw your own logs it occurs to me that to cut them all the same length and with ‘square’ rather than ‘slanted’ ends would speed up the process of splitting.
I would recommend this splitter unreservedly, especially if you have the room to store it fully assembled with stand and safety cage. At 71 years old and with a sore shoulder to boot swinging an axe has lost its appeal.

Tourbon Nylon Cartridge Belt
1 of 1 found this helpful The belt is very comfortable to wear and the cartridges are firmly held in the pockets.The two pouches at either end are very useful for car keys etc. and will hold 3 extra 12 bore cartridges each Which I use for carrying a few steel shot ones.
There is also a long zipped compartment which could be used, perhaps for gun certificate or similar items. I am very pleased with the belt which is easy the put on and take off as well as swivel around so as to place the cartridges at the front. The only downside for me is that, being corpulent I cannot load the belt with cartridge whilst wearing it. A slimmer person might not be troubled!

N50 20mm x10mm disc magnets
VERY strong magnets, I have used them for all kinds of functions; particularly for holding tools on the wooden beams above my workbench. Two of these screwed side by side will hold a large adjustable spanner or medium hammer quite securely. Don’t let them clash together or they may shatter and don’t use them to hold steel in place for welding because the heat will demagnetise them. I will definitely buy more as and when needed.
