Not perfect

I purchased this tripod after watching reviews. My old Gitzo was feeling its’ age somewhat, so I decided to give this a try. Pros, large bore tuning, lightweight and positive leg lock action. Cons : not as sturdy as it should be in the wind. I am using this as a support for my spotting scope, so I review it with that use in mind. All controls are smooth and positive. I like the short lock-unlock a lot. I also like not having to fully extend the tripod to use it . The down side for me is that the tripod seems prone to vibrating in the wind, more than I hoped it would. Cost is about what you might expect. I found a deal on an open box sale, so paid 400. Worth a look, but try if before buying.

CS Osborne harness stitching awl.

Pros: great in the hand, goes easily through even higher weights of leather. Well made, nice balance. inexpensive . Tip dampen leather slightly before sewing, makes life easier. Cons. Can't think of any A quality product from C S Osborne, who have been around for years. A delight to work with. Nice balance, feels good in the hand even when doing two needle sewing. Thoroughly recommended

'52 Fender bridge plate

As ever you pay more for a Fender part as opposed to an aftermarket one. I have to say that the Squire classic vibe telecast has a far better made bridge plate. This one has rather rough edges in the corners. Don't know why Fender do not finish these properly, not even the plated variety. Go for a better value aftermarket item instead
