Slow under sustained write. Do not buy for advertised speed alone. Good value for price of $100.
2 of 2 found this helpful This drive boasts a 1000+ MB/s Read/Write rate, but can achieve those only for a short time and only when connected to a USB-C port. Did some checks and saw that under sustained write performance (~60GB) the speeds dropped to as low as 340 MB/s. Also the write speed is capped at 838 MB/s on my 2020 iMac, Read at around 900 MB/s. Max speed was limited to 450 MB/s when connected to USB-A. Better than a HDD based solution, but does not deliver well on the promise of 1000 MB/s speed.
